eMachines Notebooks

eMachines is the champion of offering low-end, basic, inexpensive notebooks and desktop computers. They make no pretenses about being the most powerful or having sexy cases (but they are cute). The practical and portable eMmachines notebooks meet all the standards for average computer users and they sell at very attractive price points. Some would say they are throw away appliances because they are so inexpensive and they tend to become obsolete soon. Most of the components in eMachines systems are hard-wired into the computer and can not be upgraded or easily repaired. That's actually not a terrible approach though. It's fun to get a new computer, and at the Emachines prices you can almost afford to replace it ever couple of years. For most consumers it's actually to difficult and expensive to worry about upgrading and repairing systems. With eMachines you know you're getting all the power you need for now and you're paying the lowest prices around.

Notebook computers are naturally a little bit more expensive, but that doesn't stop eMachines from creating a competitive budget package. In 2003, 5 years after eMachines was founded, they made a crack at entering the notebook market and at the same time bucking their image low-end budget desktops. They package wireless networking, better graphics, a large LCD screen, and a 64-bit AMB central processor to make a big entrance. For a couple of years eMachines notebooks rivalled some of the top competitors in performance while keeping a low profile on the price. eMachines has since let their notebook models take a back seat as they found they couldn't really keep up with the giants HP Pavillion, Dell Inspiron, IBM ThinkPad, and Sony Vaio. The laptop computers from eMachines may not be their top product, but they have made their mark.
